A Guide to Finding Sunshine in the Rain
We all have those days where nothing seems to go right, and the weight of the world feels a little heavier than usual. While it's perfectly normal to have a bad day now and then, it's essential to practice some activities to lift your spirits and turn things around. Here are some practical tips on how to feel better on a bad day (things that I would usually do, hopefully it would helps you, too!)
1. Create a Positive Playlist
Music has the power to influence our mood. Create a playlist of your favorite uplifting songs and let the music work its magic. Pick some songs that would make you sing along! As for me, I would renew my playlist monthy, based from the songs that Iove to listen to.
Here is my current playlist!: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/47NiUxvOQJpHfOyWMzswgL?si=NkifInSLQGWGeOsgKKcY7w
I always bang my head hard whenever I put in my playlist when I am in the office. Sometimes, my officemates would hear whatever that I listened to, because I full blast my music lol.
2. Move Your Body
Physical activity is a powerful mood booster. Whether it's a brisk walk, a quick workout, or some simple stretches, moving your body releases endorphins, the body's natural mood lifters. As for me, I would go out and play basketball whenever I feel like I need to release any tension that exist in my body. This is mainly because, I believe that having an outlet for our negative energy is very important, so that it won't stay in our body, corrupting our minds and souls.
3. Connect with Nature
Step outside and immerse yourself in nature. Fresh air and sunlight can do wonders for your mood. Take a stroll in a nearby park, listen to the birds, and appreciate the beauty around you. Now, this is something that I haven't done for a while. I love going to beaches. Enjoying the sea breeze, watching the sunset and dipping my feet into the seawater, those are the things that would make me feel at ease and calm quickly.
4. Treat Yourself:
Indulge in a small act of self-care. It could be as simple as enjoying a cup of tea, taking a warm bath, or spending some time with a good book. Treat yourself with kindness and prioritize your well-being. I would treat myself by actually getting myself some ice cream (I love to eat lol), or even visiting museums/galleries. Oh, and now I feel like I need to get back to going to the cinema and watch movies. I think it's been like almost a year since the last time I've been to cinema? That's crazy..
5. Reach Out for Support:
Don't hesitate to lean on your support system. Whether it's a friend, family member, or colleague, sharing your feelings can provide comfort and perspective. You're not alone in this, and a caring conversation can make a world of difference. It's always important to have a strong support system. You dont have to possess multiple support at once, having one that you can truly trust is more than enough. As for me, I would be on call with my friends and talk and let out whatever that bugs me.
Bad days are an inevitable part of life, but if you approach them right, you can navigate through them with grace and resilience. Remember, it's okay to ask for help and prioritize your well-being. By incorporating these tips into your routine, you can build a strong foundation for better days ahead.
Oh- and if you are having a bad day today, I just wanted to let you know that this day will pass, and you will gather enough spirit and energy to get through it. I believe in you, and you got this. x
Take care!
